When I read Beth Staggenborg’s response to last month’s dispatch, the words to a song I learned at a Girl Scouts day camp came to mind: “Make new friends, but keep the old. One is silver and the other gold.” I agree with the concept of the song, but as Beth points out below, the idea is not without challenges. –– BLR
The Challenge of Time & Maintaining Friendships
[“Staying in Relationship“] spoke to me in so many ways. Due to our recent move, unexpectedly thrust into “community” as I always thought I wanted, relationships are my biggest challenge. How to absorb so many new people living in very close proximity with cherished old friends living farther away? Why is this so difficult? Why do I feel so frustrated managing my time? I’m grateful for your thoughts and challenges.
